Mods, Fixes and Defaults
Below are the various mods, fixes and defaults I have installed in my game. I try to keep these to a minimum, but in order to build half-way realistic houses some of them are necessary. A good example is Numenor's Scriptorium for floating (open underneath) stairs, without which many houses could not be realistically made.
If any of my Lots don't look or are not working the way you would expect them to, please compare my installed mods and fixes to the ones in your game to perhaps determine what might be causing the problem.
Since my primary Sims2 "play" activity consists of Lot building, my most important installed mods are ones that affect that aspect of the game, associated Sim behaviors and Lot aesthetics. Those mods and various fixes are shown in bold text, below, and are the most important ones to consider when playing my Lots. Other mods that I have installed are shown in plain text further down. I will keep this list updated as necessary.

UPDATED 02Sep2024: Replaced Pescado's "Door Jam Fix" with Fenwald's "Blocked Doors Can Close" fix because the latter also works with nearby ceiling fans, while the former does not.
